Delhi to Char Dham

The journey from Delhi to Char Dham, which includes the sacred pilgrimage destinations of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath, is an enriching and spiritually uplifting experience that spans approximately 1,000 to 1,200 kilometers, depending on the route you take. The drive begins from Delhi, heading north on NH44, and continues through cities like Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, and Roorkee. As you drive through the plains of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, you’ll witness an evolving landscape of lush green fields and small towns. After passing through Haridwar, the road winds upwards into the picturesque hills, taking you towards Rishikesh, where you can stop to enjoy the serenity of the Ganges before continuing your journey.

From Rishikesh, the journey splits into four main directions to reach each of the Char Dhams. To reach Yamunotri, you continue via Barkot, passing through the scenic town of Uttarkashi before reaching the starting point of the trek to the shrine. For Gangotri, you drive through the towns of Harsil and Uttarkashi, with a breathtaking view of the mountains and valleys. To reach Kedarnath, you continue to Gaurikund, where you embark on a trek to the temple. Finally, for Badrinath, you proceed via the towns of Joshimath and Chamoli, passing through the awe-inspiring Himalayan landscapes. The journey to Char Dham is not only physically demanding but also offers an immersive experience in the natural beauty and spiritual significance of these revered temples.
